Stourbridge swimmer, Gareth Webb, competed in the Midland Open Water Champs at Bosworth Water on Sunday 9th July.  Gareth, also a member of the North Worcestershire Lifesaving Club, achieved a creditable 12^th in the 12-16 years 1.5k event.  Robert Jones also swam at the meeting and achieved 2^nd in the 50-59 years 3k event.

(Later news: Gareth continued his open water exploits at the annual Llyn Padarn championships in North Wales on Saturday 22nd July, achieving 4th place in the 12-16 years 2 mile race.)

Lauren Collins has just competed at the European Junior Champs in Palma and, despite achieving a PB of 57.45 in the semi-finals of the 100m Free and qualifying 4^th for the final, was unable to repeat that performance in the final.  However, she finished a credible 7^th and can swim the event again next year, subject to qualification in the Spring.

Lauren also competed in the 4 x 100m Freestyle relay and, with a cracking split of 57.08, the team won the gold medal.
