Junior B Grade 2007 – Report
Sunday 20th May saw nearly 30 of our junior swimmers take to the pool at Wolverhampton Central Baths. For many of them, it was their second competition in just over 12 hours, and for others, it was their first competitive outing.
The competition at the open meet was of a high standard, so winning trophies was not going to be easy, with many of the regions top teams sending many of their swimmers.
The majority of the swimmers competing managed to produce some very impressive personal bests. There were a number of swimmers who produced performances which saw them knock up to 9 seconds of previous bests, which over the distances swum (50’s and 100’s) is outstanding!
All swimmers gave their best and the results are a reflection of these efforts. Congratulations must be given to all those who competed, those that achieved personal bests, those that won trophies, and to those that won speeding tickets.
From a personal point of view, it was pleasing to see that the majority of swimmers were eating the correct food i.e. pasta, fruit etc… on the poolside, during the open meet. As I’ve said many times, performances reflect what is eaten so it is important that advice is taken, as science doesn’t lie!
