Hi everyone sorry this ones a little late but there were a few gala's to organise and the county relay teams to select which has taken up a lot of time.

 

Anyway here goes the last round of the Diddy's would be tough and we would have to swim out of our skins to make the final.  Everyone was up for the challenge including me.  It would be tough a long pool again and some serious opposition (I MUST SAY I THINK THE DIDDY'S HAVE BEEN VERY UNLUCKY THIS YEAR NOT GETTING THE CHANCE TO SWIM IN A 25M POOL)

 

Not everyone could have an individual in this Round because I really did have to make sure we could get as many points as possible and on a whole I think we did.  All those who just swam in the Relays you are just as important because without you we would not have a team.  So well done especially to you I understand it is disappointing for you but reaching the Final was our goal.

Event 1&2 First races of the gala 10's 2 Length Freestyle Lauren and Tom 1st and 4th great swims. Well Done

Event 3&4 Katie and Josh 9's 1 Length Breaststroke both 4th places. Extremely well done tough competition

Event 5&6 11's Medley Relay 4th for the girls and 3rd for the lads. Well Done to both teams

Event 7&8 12's 2 Length Backstroke Becky and Ant 5th and 2nd. Well Done

Event 9&10 10's 2 Length Breaststroke Emily and Jake both 1st places. Excellent swims very well done.

Event 11&12 9's Medley Relay 2nd to the girls and 4th to the boys. Great Swims

Event 13&14 11's Freestyle Relay both 4th places with near identical times. Well done

Event 15&16 12's 2 Length Butterfly Fran and Ant 3rd and 2nd with Ant just touched out yet again. Well done

Event 17&18 10's Medley Relay 2nd to the girls and 3rd to the boys. Fantastic swims both teams.

Event 19&20 11 2 Length Backstroke Sophie and Tom 1st and 2nd amazing swims. Well done 

Event 21&22 9's Freestyle Relay 2nd to the girls and 3rd to the boys. Great swims

Event 23&24 12's 2 Length Breaststroke Ellie and Matt 4th and 5th. Well Done better luck next time

Event 25&26 10's Freestyle Relay 1st to the girls and 3rd to the boys. Extremely well done to both teams

Event 27&28 11's 2 Length Butterfly Beth and Tom both 2nd places. Great swims

 

Half Way Points:

 

Event 29&30 9's 1 Length Butterfly Katie and George 1st and 3rd great swims from the younger team members

Event 31&32 12's 2 Length Freestyle Fran and Sam (who was swimming up an age group) 3rd and 5th.  Great swims 

Event 33 Girls 8x1 Freestyle Relay. Excellent swims from all of the swimmers but we just got touched out by Boldmere.  Let's see if the boys can do better.

Event 34&35 10's 2 Length Backstroke Callum and Lauren 3rd and 1st well done to both swimmers

Event 36&37 9's 1 Length Freestyle James and Emma 5th and 4th, better luck next time.

Event 38&39 12's Freestyle Relay 5th to the boys and 3rd to the girls. Well done great effort

Event 40&41 11's 2 Length Breaststroke Joe and Phoebe 2nd and 5th Great swims with extremely tough competition

Event 42 Boys 8x1 Freestyle Relay, 3rd place well done great effort. 

Event 43&44 10's 1 Length Butterfly Kim and Jake 5th and 2nd. Well done to both swimmers as this is a hard event in a 33.3m pool

Event 45&46 9's 1 Length Backstroke Eva and George 2nd and 3rd. Fanastic swims well done

Event 47&48 11's 2 Length Freestyle Sophie and Sam 2nd and 3rd with Sophie 0.2 seconds off victory better luck next time

Event 49&50 12's Medley Relay both 4th places great swims from both teams.

Event 51 Finally the Cannon we came third this time but this was an extremely hard gala with the top 2 teams against us.

Thanks to everyone who helped again it really does make life easy for me on poolside and is much appreciated.  (AS YOU ALL KNOW I LOVE TO WATCH AND SHOUT)

 

A really outstanding performance from the entire team with everyone giving 110%.

 

I'm afraid it was not quite enough the points we gained in the first round cost us dear and overall we finished 9th in the League.  That's a big improvement from last year and I am sure with Mark and Bridgett working hard as always we can get there next year.

 

So when you are training listen to your Coaches and work as hard as you can because it will not be easy next year as we will not have our 12s(ANT, MATT, JAKE, ELLIE, FRAN, HAYLEY AND BECKY).  But we will have some great replacements which will include this years 11s if you all work hard.
