Well here goes first Diddy League format Gala of the year. This is the programme of events for the Nuneaton and Bedworth Diddy league. So for all the new swimmers and parents you will see how it
works with individual swims relays and cannons.
First the important part the swimmers.
9 YRS. Aimee Sanders, Alex Westlake, Jordan Yates and Dave Birnie.
10 YRS Emily and Kay Bennett, Katie Jones, Nat Dingley, Emma Pay, George Hammersley, James Stevenson, Josh Evans and Jacob Anson.
11 YRS Lauren Sanders, Emily Tiano, Beth Davis, Ellee Madagan, Jake Knight, Callum Faulkner and Tom Pearson.
12 YRS Sophie Page, Kate Fletcher, Tom Asprey and Sam Tromans.
Its worth mentioning there are supposed to be four girls and four boys in each age group. As you can see we were a little thin on the ground with some swimmers pulling out at the last minute with a rather nasty flu bug spreading round. This would mean I would have to swim older swimmers in the 9s relays thus being automatically disqualified but the ones that were there needed the practice.
It is quite difficult for us to select which event suits the child and team for the new 9s as we only have a few results for the club champs to look at. If it was all freestyle it would be no problem as everyone seems to pick that as their favorite or number one and of course we cannot all swim that event. It is always a problem whether to use the fastest or the weakest in freestyle and in friendly galas I try to let everyone swim their favorite although this is not always possible.
Take a look at the result sheet for now and remember all the 9s have not swam against other clubs on their own before. The 10s too have never done 50m events either.

Well not a bad result considering we lost possible 24 points before the start. We can work on this and hopefully field a full team next time.
Some fantastic performances from my regulars including Jake Knight with a PB with goggles half off and Tom Pearson again filling in as 12 in the relays.
Swimmer of the night a split decision so there are two Sam Tromans for a superb double performance against very strong opposition and Jake Knight for his great swim with goggles half off gaining a 2
second PB.
The team of the night were the 9s as they were very busy and were not to worried about those high starting blocks at Cheslyn Hay.
