Hello everyone! hope everything is going ok back in England and you are all training hard ready for the counties. Iv heard you all did well in the worcester winter league the other night WELL DONE! I dont know where to start with this, so much is different out here compaired to england from the lifestyle/food/weather/training but here we go :) (ill start with the training as this is probrably what your all most interested in being swimmers). My first session wasnt too bad with COmmercial, i think they were trying to break me in easy...but boy did it still hurt! we did 2000m kick set off decending times, just my favourite set :| i could hardly walk the next day...my second session in was abit different, we did a 1500m warm up, a main set of 20 x 200m off 6 minutes in fins and a 100m swimdown my shoulders and quads have never burned this much in my life! i couldnt believe the difference between training in a 25m pool and a 50m pool. My first morning session was the monday of the second week :) ill explain this one fully as it is fresh in my mind (only just got back from it).

        (150m breathing 3-4-5
  5x   (3 x 50m drill

  5x   600m as 1-swim
                    2-pullboy and band
                    3-pullboy, band and paddles
                    4-pullboy and band
                    5-swim
these were completed with about 20-30 seconds rest between each at a quick but steady pace

  2x  (6 x 50m kick decending 1-3
       (200m sprint kick

  4x  50m drill swimdown

needless to say my shoulders are in agony and my legs can hardly move haha ohwel :) but i have got another session at 4-6, where as that was done at 5.30 - 7.40 am this morning! Oh and if u havnt noticed the motto of my coach is 'a fast kicker makes a fast swimmer'

The training ethos over here is so different to what we have in England too, no one mones when they are told the session or complains then they are feeling tired, they all turn up to training wanting to perform and get better. I have to say i admire that and i will hopefully be able to duplicate this behaviour and bring it back with me to the sessions at home. Everyone is so willing to train and put 110% every session and it shows in there swimming they are really really good. Stewart get on it, crack the whip of dicapline even harder, it will pay off in the end ;)
Also the pool i am training in is amazing it is an open air outdoor 50m 10 lane swimming pool, the sun is coming up at 5.30am when i get to training and it is still up when i train later on at 4pm. There is nothing like training in 30degree+ heat with the sun on you in a 50m pool, i neva mind what we get told the sessions are im just in awe at the pool. As sad as it sounds :) Hopefully i will be gettin loads of pictures and ill be able to put them all up on the website for you all to see. If you have any questions regarding my trip to Australia feel free to email me on Harrylord@msn.com and i will try to get back and answer u all. Hopefully ill be doing that while relaxing at the pool by the bbq with a cold beer in my hand and the sun on me :) ill keep you all posted on the trip aswel, think ill be updating this weekly from now on :)
