City Of Sheffield Swim Squad No frills open 2007.
The 26th and 27th of May saw the last open meet of the season, with swimmers chasing after national times it was all to go for. We had not entered this open before and to say the standard was high would not come close to the quality of swimmers on poolside with GBR hats dotted around the poolside and the Loughborough University swimmers. With the distance we had to stay over so it made to a great team building weekend and I have to say everyone gelled together and I have never laughed so much a fantasic time was had by all. But one word of advice never as Zoe for a cup of coffee – more ends up on the surface than in the mug!!
The swimmers who attended were: Matt Hooper, Phil Harrington, G Harrington, Zoe Hunter, Becky Evans Sarah Pearson, Ant Parkes and Becki Cole.
Sheffield is considered a very fast pool and our swimmers proved that, with everyone gaining some very fast times indeed. All swimmers gained PB’s across events, which was a great result. Sarah swam a great 50m FC going sub 30 for the 1st time long course but just missing out on that NQT. Day 2 saw Becky Cole in her best events of 50 and 100 Back. She powered through getting a time of 34.26 finishing over a second faster than any other 12. Next came the 100m and chasing that NQT.
A fantastic swim saw Becki touch in 1.12.06 over a second inside the NQT! Well done.
I would like to thank Andrea Parkes, Elaine Pearson and Tracy Cole for attending and being the female team managers.
Well done to everyone.
