Worcester Winter league 2008 Final

I had the great pleasure this year of being at both the A and B finals. The level of competition was very high and the swimming by all the swimmers was exceptional with some very exciting finishes. This year we came up against a very strong Halesowen team as we did last year and, although we ran them very close they deserved to be the winners and our congratulations go to them. However what stood out for me was the good humour and sportsmanship shown on the day.

We must remember that this is a very important part of our sport and long may it continue.

What however also stood out was the quality we have in depth which was demonstrated in the tremendous B team performance , not only reaching the B final but winning it in style when swimming against  other A teams. Our swimmers who swim in the B team are just more A grade swimmers and it is this quality that epitomises what makes Stourbridge a great club.

Although our A team was pipped at the post ,they swam superbly and  our overall club performance was exceptional.
